Okay, So Snow Is Pretty And All
But really, I am over it. Like honestly and truly over it. I never even liked snow in the first place. We got 2 feet in December, and now they are calling for a foot this weekend? Are you fucking kidding me? Do I live in Buffalo?
I went to college in Hartford, Ct. I did my time in snow. I'm done. I request a snow, reprieve.
In other news, my roof leaks, but only when it snows. Not when it rains, feel free to explain that feet of nature to me. We thought it was fixed during the first snow storm but that roofer sucked and now we have to REFIX IT. Please imagine how fun that conversation was when the roof started leaking, again. It ended with him telling Doug he felt we should "go our separate ways." I WANT TO TELL HIM TO BITE ME. But whatever.
The roof has killed my dreams of Mom 2.0, so no blog conferences for me this year. Just lots and lots of snow.
Spring is when?

It is bad enough that you are missing conferences, but you are missing them for SNOW. That is just wrong. v. v. wrong.

The weight of the snow is probably causing the roof to sag and that creates gaps between the plywood the tar paper and shingles are covering, et voila, leakage.

Snow. I am also not a fan. And I did grow up in Buffalo...so I've had enough exposure to say that without a doubt in my mind.

I am a fan of snow and even I'm tired of it. My 5 year old is tired of it. My 1 year old probably does not remember a world without snow. Ready for spring, please.

Did you go to Trinity? Because I went to Trinity. :p

Oh lord, I can only imagine. It was bad enough that ours leaked in rain. At least we only had to have it fixed once. (cause I need the $ for the septic tank people who are digging up my yard today)
This is why I'm just peachy living in FL. But Tom is just dying to move us to the northeast. WTF dude? You don't have to shovel sunshine!

This is a bad dream. I'm so over this fucking winter.

I'm getting tired of snow and we haven't had near as much as you. The only fun I get is torturing my 20mo by sticking her out in it. Even that is getting old.

Agreed. I'm ready for sun and 70 degrees.

Sounds like you need to move south... Texas is nice (when it's not 150 degrees!)

The reason your roof leaks when it snows and not when it rains is simple: poor concentration. Read it motivational literature and the poems on Maya Angelou and it will be just fine.

Last winter was like that here in the Pacific Northwest. My husband injured his back from all the shoveling, and I just stayed inside with the kids and cried. And then it all melted and caused floods in low-lying areas. Not. Fun.
Hope you get a reprieve soon!
